The Founder
My name is Andries Taljaard. I build mattresses for a living.
I started Mr Mattress because I was tired of watching people pay double for a bed they could get for half the price — if only someone cut out the middleman.
So we did.
We own the factory. We cut the foam. We stitch the covers. We load the truck. And we sell straight to you — no distributor, no agent, no retail chain taking a slice on the way.
That’s it. That’s the whole trick.
My wife Melanie handles the visual aesthetics and graphic design. Our three kids are growing up around the business. When you buy from us, you’re not buying from a faceless brand. You’re buying from a family that sleeps on the same mattresses we sell you.
